This newly created Community Paediatrician jobs in Australia will both challenge and excite you as you play a lead role in the planning and development of many of its key, state wide services.   

The Position:
Offering the right candidate an opportunity to utilise their honed paediatric skills in conjunction with their excellent aptitude for communication and management, this position will provide fantastic scope to make your mark in Australian Paediatrics.

This is a Community Paediatrician job with state-wide planning and co-ordination responsibilities in relation to child protection issues and also clinical responsibilities in Southern Tasmania in relation to community paediatrics, child protection issues, developmental and general paediatrics. This is a new position and the person appointed will be expected to plan and co-ordinate a state-wide clinical service for patients involved with the child protection services and lead the provision of a clinical service in Southern Tasmania. There is also an opportunity to play a lead role in the planning and provision of community paediatric services and involvement in developmental and/or general paediatric services can be negotiated.

The position is based in the Community Area Health Service with close ties to the tertiary referral hospital. An affiliation with the highly respected School of Medicine could also be negotiated for the right applicant.

The rewards:

A great salary package in excess of $250,000 will be negotiated with the successful applicant that will include, but not be limited to the following:

 The Rehabilitation Centre and the position:

In our clients aim to develop this 'state of the art' service, a major new assessment, treatment and rehabilitation facility is being built. This will be a purpose-built space for the successful applicant’s teams to work in the most efficient way possible. It will also allow for seamless provision of:

* rehabilitation services for <65 year olds.

* organised stroke services including acute stroke service

Along side adult rehabilitation are other components, which are the responsibility to their respective teams.

* services for older adults: inpatients, assessment-treatment-rehabilitation, and outpatients

* mental health services for older people

The hub will have 113 beds. The successful applicant will be part of a team whose aim is to practice within an interdisciplinary model.

You must be eligible to practice in New Zealand in the speciality of Rehabilitation Medicine and meet the requirements to be approved vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

The Hospital:

Our client, with over 600 beds provides a comprehensive range of primary, secondary and tertiary health services to a population of approximately 320,00 people and provides tertiary and trauma co-ordination services and specialist diagnostic services to the central North Island regional population of 826,080.

The location:

The setting is a region of lush green pastures and mountains, bush and farmland, stunning waterfalls, hot mineral pools, caves and exceptional beaches and surf. It is also renowned for its adventure tourism, life sciences research, agribusiness, and dairy farming and is one of the world's richest agricultural and pastoral areas, with more dairy cows than any other region in the world! It is New Zealand's highest export-earning region, accounting for around 19 percent of the country's total exports. In addition, about 25 per cent of New Zealand's scientific research happens in the region.
