Specialties:
Oncology (Medical/Radiation/Palliative Care)
Type:
Full Time
Location:
Coastal Regional

Medical Oncologist required to provide their services to a cancer care service spanning across coastal Queensland.

The Oncologists will be based at a busy modern 140 bed hospital and will be responsible for providing and ensuring high quality evidence based cancer care. Furthermore, they will provide new patient assessment, outpatients sessions, and clinical rounds, and to participate in the out of hours on call roster. There will also be a degree of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research within the hospitals the Medical Oncologist will be working at.

When a city is voted the happiest place in Australia, the whale watch capital of the world and is often referred to as the jewel in Queenslands crown, it is quite understandable that it then becomes the second fastest growth area in Australia. You may think these are some ‘big’ claims, but the truth is - they are probably a little understated. The very happy 53,000 residents live a euphoric life in a stable, subtropical climate with safe beaches, fine foods, and an abundance of recreational activities to suit all. Add to this; excellent services and infrastructure that is constantly being updated to keep pace with the influx of newcomers and a relaxed, simplistic way of life and you can see why so many want their piece of ‘happy’.

To be eligible for this position, the Medical Oncologist will:
- Have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent
- Have experience in leading teaching activities
- Be able to participate in Research projects
- Have demonstrated commitment to continuing education and research
- A current drivers license
