» MCNZ extends Locum Tenens time & availability
MCNZ has extended from 6 to 12 months the maximum period of registration under the locum tenens pathway. Locum tenens will also now be available for positions at all levels of employment, rather than only at consultant level. Doctors on this scope who are also applying for vocational registration, may have their time on locum tenens counted towards their period of supervised practice for vocational registration only if they’re eligible for the supervision pathway. Those doctors on the assessment pathway (ie where there are other requirements they have to meet in addition to a period of satisfactory supervised practice) will not have their time under supervision on locum tenens scope counted towards their period of supervision for vocational registration.
